ABOUT
It was 2009 and 50 Cent debuted his 4th album with a single produced by a group called The Futuristiks. Thirteen years later the duo, now named Mike & Keys, are 5x Grammy-Nominated producers, chart-topping musicians, album executive producers and executive owners of an all exclusive production group based in Los Angeles, California.
This multidimensional sound is the product of Michael Ray Cox, Jr. (born Michael Ray Cox) and John Groover (born John Groover), who can decipher new sounds and place any musician in the right beat. Their production contributions span from multi-genre placements, feature film soundtracks, Grammy Award nominations; all confirming Mike & Keys’ formula of “focus on sound - not song” is succeeding.
Mike & Keys have produced Platinum-selling albums from artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Mya, BJ The Chicago Kid, Jidenna, Eminem, and countless others. Jay-Z, Eric Bellinger, Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, Problem, Khelani, and others have collaborated with the duo.
In addition to producing the vast majority of Nipsey Hussle's critically acclaimed album, Victory Lap, and Dom Kennedy's "Get Home Safely," the duo have been a major player in the new wave of West Coast music. Their recent 2021 production includes GTA's "Diamond Mind" (feat. Nipsey Hussle & Ty Dolla $ign).
Oscar Nominated Film, Judas and Black Messiah 2 single soundtrack release included a track with Nipsey Hussle and Jay-Z entitled “What it Feels Like”, which peaked at #20 on the Hip-Hop and R&B Billboard Charts and peaked Top #50 on the US Billboard Charts.
As their career has progressed, the two have regarded their contributions to advancing the youth. Their objective is to grow their foundation “Health & Wellness 5K Foundation”, started by Mike and Keys with a mission to provide better programs for the youth eager to strive in music and sports. They hope to use their success as an inspiration tool to others while creating music that feels good.
